We can accept that fact that winter is here and our summer glows have faded away. Here are 5 easy tips to help keep a warm, natural glow for the winter!
1. Those rays are still shining through!
Most people when they hear the word "sunscreen" they think of the summer. However, sunscreen is a key component to keeping your skin radiant in the winter. Most brands such as Aveeno and Neutrogena do contain SPF 10-15 in their moisturizers.
2. Hydration is key
It is so important to stay hydrated inside and out! The more water you drink the more hydrated your skin will feel and look. While selecting a foundation for your skin, liquid foundations and base creams contain more oils that can help keep your skin more hydrated. To help keep your skin feeling radiant and glowing throughout the day carry a face spray (Evian, MAC, Urban Decay,etc.).
3. Choose something warm
When selecting a blush and/or bronzer think warm! Keep within 2-3 shades of your skin tone to keep a more natural look. Contour carefully! Brushes and highlighters are your best friends. Apply a soft color, such as a pink or peachy blush and use a highlighter to give that summer glow that your skin lacks in the winter months. Don't over do it!
4. A little red lipstick never hurt nobody
Preparing your lips for the winter always apply lip balm before applying any lip color. Cranberry, red, and deep maroon colors are great for this time of year. Again, hydration is key, whether you're wearing a lip color or not always have some form of chapstick or cream base on your lips.
5. Does your makeup tend to rub off on your scarf?
One of the number one complaints in the winter for woman is their makeup rubbing off all over their scarves, coats, and hats. An easy solution would be to apply a layer of translucent pressed powder. It is less messy than loose powder, and it can help keep makeup where you want it. Apply after your makeup is complete.
