Iconic Style: White After Labor Day?

Labor Day Weekend is upon us and with it comes phenomenal end of season sales, new fall collections and the feeling that it is socially acceptable to say you're tired of summer. We couldn't agree more! Fall dressing is the most exhilarating season in our books and probably most fashion houses as well. There's a reason the September issues of magazines are the fattest of the year, right?

But with the coming of the first Monday of September comes also the pesky rule that white clothing is done. You pack away all your predominantly white garments and don't dare to touch them until Memorial Day. Well readers, rules are meant to broken. Besides, the Icon staff looks REALLY good in white. Foregoing it on someone else's wedding day is unfortunate enough. An entire fall and winter? Unthinkable. So if you're wondering how to break the rules, we'll be giving you some rule breaking outfit inspiration here on the blog.

Here's our first contender. With fall being such a transitional season, we love the idea of a classic equestrian look with a twist. Take your white skinny jeans from summer, pair it with a chambray cami and a tweedy blazer for a great layered look. Add pops of black through a cocktail ring, a hat and some killer booties to keep the look modern and fresh. And pair it with the hashtag #iwokeuplikethis, even if you didn't.

Go forth and rock that white long after the holiday!
