Met Gala 2016: Hair Looks

The Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is THE place to see the hottest fashion designers and celebrities. This year's theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology." With these technological looks, we saw tons of sleek hair styles with metallic accessories. Here are some of the looks and tips to achieve them:

Beyonce and Poppy Delevingne sported simple long and straight styles. These ladies possibly did not want to take away from the beautiful gowns they wore by Givenchy Haute Couture and Marchesa. To achieve a very straight look such as these always make sure you use a heat protectant, like Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer that we carry at Icon, to protect your hair from heated straightening tools.

Singer Rita Ora and Model Gigi Hadid are rocking the slicked, pulled back styles. This look shows off these ladies beautiful facial features as well as their adorned ears. To maintain these slicked back styles, a good hair spray is very beneficial. Icon carries Moroccan Oil's Extra Strong Hairspray to maintain a frizz-free pulled back look.

Short bobs were spotted throughout the Met Gala this year. Makeup Tycoon Kylie Jenner and Singer Taylor Swift bob's really turned heads. These 'bobbed' styles are quite opposite with Kylie's being super straight and Taylor's being textured and wavy. Both styles can be achieved with EIMI's Sugar Lift. Sugar lift is great for sleek blowdries or to achieve a textured look with dry hair and styling tools.

Curls came in all shapes and eras at the Met Gala. Lady Gaga killed it in an 80's Madonna inspired outfit and voluminous curls. While Comedian Amy Schumer look envisions classic Hollywood Glam. Curls of any kind deserve love and with Kerastase's Discipline Curl Ideal line carried by Icon, curls from the 80s to Hollywood Glam are kept intact.
